Discord was interested to launch in-app games for people to play with friends online and pal around through direct message and group direct messages. We created assets that would highlight what it could look like to utilize this new feature for DMs & GDMs.

The early stages of concepting were lead by illustration teammate Gica Tam, them passed to me. After 3 concepts were delivered stakeholders chose the one above, however the Creative Director mentioned it feeling off.

The initial one choice didn’t match the fishing app and the environment needed to play off the app a bit more. So we pivoted to the other variation from Gica’s concepts and proceeded with the floaties.
